So, let’s chat for a minute and let me spill some beans. Did you know that your “About Me Page” is actually the most popular page on your site? I know, me either girl. Seriously, my website where I sell makeup about me page had a selfie and it said New Orleans, LA. (Lmaoooooo) That’s not a About me Page sis, that’s a Instagram bio. Your “About Me Page” is really special, it’s where your reader get to learn more about the person behind the brand, your business (or businesses), and blog. They get to find out what’s makes you so lit and want to stick around for the vibe.
It’s not just about telling people who you are but to let your reader know the real reason for why you started and how you can help them become the lit person they have been the entire time, they just needed a confidence booster (don’t we all). It gives you the opportunity to connect with your “perfect supporter”.
After doing some research and test I found a quick and easy way to revamp your about me page. There are several steps you should take when creating an About Me Page and I’m going to get you through them all. I know, writing about yourself and explaining your blog/business in writing can be hard. PART ONE: KNOW YOUR MARKET. (Who do you serve?)
When your new visitor land on your page they should see be able to make a quick decision on if your blog is something they are interested in. Which means you need to get a clear vision on who you serve and what kind of value you will be bringing to the table. Remember you can expect anyone to want to work with you if they don’t know what you have to offer.
One key point to an amazing about me page is making sure it’s ALL about the value you give to your readers. Yes sis, people want to know about you but they really want to know what you can do for them and quick. So let them know what you’re bringing to the table by explaining exactly WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THEM. So before you get started slaying your about me page make sure you know who you serve, what’s your purpose for your site and what makes it useful to your readers.
PART TWO: Let em’ (your reader/buyer) Know they’re in the Right Place.
The goal is to vibe with your perfect fit supporter (your future customer). Ever read a meme and say, YO! HOW TF DID THEY KNOW?! (me 8 times a day). That’s how you have to make your reader feel. Make em’ feel like you can read minds!

See how smooth and straight to the point I am? Yup, no time to waste. I created an instant vibe with my “perfect” supporter and like them how what I had to offer. That’s how you want to you let them know right away that they are in the right place. Now the vibe I gave out through my About Me Page will not be the vibe that every girl is going for, but that’s okay because we want to connect with the right ones not everyone.
PART THREE: Make your Blog a “Go – To” Resource!
So, let’s be honest. There are probably a million people doing what you’re trying to do and put in on a blog/website. Instead of feeling discouraged about this, it should really excite you because this is where your True VALUE comes in. This is also why it’s super important to know who you serve and what value you bring them. Your blog should be set up as a go to resource for any topics you intent to specialize in on your site.

– Think about everything you would want your favorite fashion blogger to have on their site – what do you expect to see ?

- Fashion Online store to shop
- Travel Vlogs
- Celebrity Fashion Looks
- Constant fashion trend updates
- How’s to / Tutorials
- Look Books
- Book an appointment/ collaborations
- Etc …..
See, all the things you can offer .. give em’ a lil bit of everything and always spice it up, but remember to stay on TOPIC. You’ve already communicated WHO you serve and WHAT you can help them with, now the next question you need to answer is HOW are you going to get it done?
Some questions you can ask yourself to get started:
- What would make someone want to read your blog?
- What topics do you specialize in?
- What will they get out of your content ?
- Can you show some street cred that supports your success ?
PART FOUR: Share Your Purpose
What’s the Goal!? What’s the Purpose for your Blog/ Business? You can start with something like: You’ve got something amazing to share with the world and I’m here to help you slay and shine like a diamond you are.
Remember people love to know you care about how you help them become lit like you. Let them know how you were once like them and through different strategies, ideas, and principles you believe in, you were able to achieve your goals and with showing them a way, they can do it to.
PART FIVE: Share your Story.
Why did you start? What made you say I have to me Beauty Blogger/Makeup Artist, Fashion Blogger/Fashion Stylist, graphic designer, or artist. People start things for all kinds of reasons and believe or not people love to see if your “Dreamer to Trap Bo$$” story is any kind of way similar to theirs . This does not mean pour out your entire life story and try to win award. Just let them know if it was an accident and you just kind of fell into it or maybe you knew you was going to be a Trap Bo$$ from birth. What led you here. What ever helps you inspire the uninspired. Keep it fun but personal, add some cool facts about yourself and what’s makes you unique and relatable.
PART SIX: CTA! CALL TO ACTION PLAN!
What is a Call to Action Plan? It basically encourages your readers to take a deliberate and specific action. Now this is how you start plotting on your coins (money) for your value. You can have them sign up with a newsletter in exchange for a discount, follow me on Instagram, freebies, or podcast. Asking them to subscribe ensures that you stay in touch. As you can see making money online starts way before you ask someone to buy your products or services. Take the chance to invite people to continue building that relationship with you future supporter and the best way to do this is through a CTA plan. Even if they don’t read your entire About Me Page (let’s be realistic now…) that doesn’t mean they don’t want to know more about you.
Make sure your CTA Plan includes:
- Visual Buttons
- Put in different areas on the pages (top, middle, end)
